Adolf Hitler of Namibia wins regional elections
Adolf Hitler Uunona, an adviser to the Ompunja constituency in Namibia, won the regional elections, being re-elected for a fifth term. This was reported on November 27 by Euronews TV channel.
"59-year-old Adolf Hitler Uunona has represented Ompunja district since 2004 as a member of the South West Africa People's Organization. Although the Namibian Electoral Commission has not yet released the official results of the vote count, according to numerous reports, Uunona won by a wide margin," the publication says.
Recently, Uuona applied for a name change to remove Hitler from it.
"When I was a kid, I thought this name was completely normal. It wasn't until I grew up that I realized: this man wanted to enslave the whole world. I have nothing to do with any of this," the politician said.
Regional elections in Namibia were held on November 26.
Hitler from Namibia won the local elections and became the head of the Oshana district in 2020. 85% of the residents voted for him. The politician was nominated by the ruling SWAPO Party (People's Organization of South-West Africa). Even at the beginning of his career, the man noted that his father chose his name, who probably did not really understand the global role of the leader of the Third Reich.
The Bild newspaper reported on November 24 that Uunona confirmed his intention to run in the regional elections in Ompunja district for the fifth time.
