In Russia, a drop in discounts on new cars in size and quantity was recorded
In October-November, amid a reduction in inventory, the median discount on a new car at authorized dealers fell from 21% to 17%, which was the most significant change this year. The total number of discounted ads also decreased by 3%. By the end of November, almost a fifth of the cars were already offered without discounts, <url> experts told Izvestia on November 25.
In November, the median discount rate, which includes bonuses for loan processing, insurance and trade-in, decreased to 18%, while in the first half of the year it exceeded 23%. The median discount for loan processing decreased from 11% to 9%, for trade-in — from 7% to 5%. The discount for registration of the casco policy remained at 2%.
With the general trend towards reducing discounts, some popular brands stand out with better deals. The discount structure in October-November of this year was as follows: the highest median discount was recorded for Omoda and Changan brands — 22%. Chery and Changan offer the most discounts, with more than 92% of discounted offers, while Haval dealers have the least discounts again, with only 77% of ads.
"The peak of the buyer's market is behind us — dealers do not have many cars left last year, and an additional stir was caused by an active discussion of a new increase in recycling. For example, the popular Belgee X70 was available in September for 2.5-2.7 million rubles, now its price is already above 3 million rubles. There are significantly fewer particularly profitable offers and special promotions, but new car buyers still have options, although this may require visiting several dealerships or a neighboring region," said Sergey Ignatov, head of the Key Customer Relations department at <url>.
Among the regions of the Russian Federation leading in terms of new car supply in November 2025, the highest median discount was recorded in Moscow and the Nizhny Novgorod Region — 21% and 20%, respectively. This is followed by St. Petersburg and the Samara Region (19%). The lowest rate is observed in the Rostov region — only 10%. At the same time, a decrease of almost 10% in the number of ads without a discount was recorded in the regions.
Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that, as stated by the head of the association "Russian Automobile Dealers" (ROAD) Alexey Podshchekoldin, this year New Year's discounts on cars from dealers should not be expected.
