The decision to arrest him was made after the eldest son of the former president, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, called on supporters to hold a rally in support of his father at the residence where Bolsonaro Sr. was under house arrest.
Bloomberg also recalled that the panel of judges who considered Bolsonaro's case rejected the defense's appeal against the verdict.
