Sales of new pickups in Russia decreased by a third

In October of this year, 2,325 pickups were sold in Russia, which is 33.5% less than in the same month last year. This was reported on November 21 by the analytical agency Autostat.

As analysts have pointed out, the decline in sales of new pickups in the Russian Federation has been observed for eight months in a row (since March). And the entire Russian car market declined by only 3.2% in mid-autumn. In just 10 months, 17.5 thousand new pickups were sold in Russia (-27% YoY).

The leader in sales of new pickups in October is the Chinese JAC, which sold 599 units (25.7% of the total market in the segment). Next are two more Chinese companies — Great Wall (346 units), Changan (277 units). The fourth was the American brand RAM (234 units), the domestic Sollers (226 units) closed the top five of the rating, whose pickups are based on JAC models. Experts noted that UAZ did not get into the top five for the second month in a row.

In the model rating, the bestseller is the JAC T9 (477 units). This is followed by Changan Hunter Plus and Great Wall Poer (277 and 267 units, respectively), RAM 1500 and UAZ Pickup (234 and 207 units, respectively).

Experts attribute this to record demand in October.

The day before, it was reported that in 10 months of 2025, 383 thousand car loans were issued in Russia for the purchase of used cars, which is 53% less than in the same period last year. In monetary terms, the reduction in lending amounted to 57%, to 472.3 billion rubles.
