The Citymax 12 low-floor city bus manufactured by Likinsky Bus Plant (LiAZ) has gone on sale in Russia. This is stated in the message of the Modern Transport Technologies company, which was received by Izvestia on November 18.

Citymax 12 is based on a unified platform that will produce buses with various types of powertrains. The company is currently producing a diesel version, with plans to expand the range with gas and electric models in the future. LiAZ's investments in the development of the bus amounted to 1.3 billion rubles, of which more than 760 million rubles were a concessional loan from the Industrial Development Fund of the Russian Federation.
The overall length of the bus is 12 m. In various versions, the bus can accommodate from 95 to 117 people, and the number of seats varies from 20 to 35. The area of the low floor reaches 13.6 square meters, which is called the best indicator in the class. The doors are equipped with an anti-theft system, and their flaps are illuminated, which warns of opening and closing by changing colors. The perimeter of the bus floor can also be illuminated. The storage area allows you to accommodate a baby and a wheelchair. The knilling system tilts the bus towards the doors at the stops, making it easier to board and disembark.
It is noted that the interior of the cabin was designed for the convenience of drivers of various body types. The chair is equipped with an air suspension, an individual climate system is provided. The bus can be equipped with blind spot monitoring systems, lane-keeping control, driver fatigue monitoring, adaptive turn-light, rain and light sensors. Vandal-proof seats, climate control, multimedia screens, USB charging and a Wi-Fi router are installed in the cabin. All seats, brackets and handrails are fixed not on the floor, but on the sides of the body.
The Citymax 12 is equipped with a 7.7-liter YaMZ-53703 diesel engine that develops 360 hp (1,500 Nm) and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The front wheels have independent air suspension. The volume of fuel tanks is 310 liters. The power reserve reaches 600 km.
Earlier, on October 9, the Moscow Department of Transport announced that tests of the new Citymax 12 bus had begun on suburban route 1383 from Planernaya Metro station to Khimki. Based on the results of operation in different road and weather conditions, the possibility of purchasing Citymax 12 for operation on adjacent routes in the Moscow region will be considered.
On September 26, the Pavlovsky Bus Factory started production of the new Citymax 8 model. The bus is 8.1 m long and has a capacity of 32 passengers. Such transport is in demand on routes with low passenger traffic.
