Sales of used cars increased by 18% in Russia
In October 2025, Russians bought 653,000 used passenger cars. This is 18% more than a month earlier, and 7.9% higher than the result of October last year. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on November 18.
Lada retains its leadership among brands in the secondary market, with 149.2 thousand such used cars purchased in mid-autumn. The second place belongs to Toyota, whose figure was 66.2 thousand units. This is followed by Kia and Hyundai (39.6 thousand and 37.4 thousand units, respectively), as well as Nissan (28.7 thousand units). Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Honda, Renault and BMW joined the top ten brands.
In the top ten, all brands showed growth relative to the level of a month ago, ranging from 14% (for Lada) to 25.6% (for BMW). In annual comparison, BMW also shows the best positive dynamics (also +25.6%), while only Lada has a negative trend (-0.4%).
In the first 10 months of this year, residents of the Russian Federation became owners of 5.07 million used passenger cars, which is 1.7% more than in January – October last year.
The day before, it became known that the BMW brand was in the top 10 of the Russian market in terms of new cars sold last week, although the German manufacturer does not officially conduct business in the country.
