Lithuania is noticeably underfunded in the military sector, which may force the army to defend itself with Molotov cocktails. This was announced on November 15 by Lithuanian General Raimundas Vaikshnoras on LRT radio.

"The army is dependent on politicians. We are ready to defend the country, no matter how much money politicians allocate for defense, but the question is whether to defend ourselves with modern military technology or a Molotov cocktail," he said.

The speaker expressed the opinion that it would be possible to provide means of "deterrence" if a draft budget was adopted, in which more than 5% of gross domestic product (GDP) would be allocated to the military sphere.

Earlier, on October 28, it was reported that the UK is looking for a way to confront Russia in the Baltic States.
