In the Jewish Autonomous Region, police officers detained a 45-year-old local resident, who, during a personal search, found a package of heroin weighing more than 1.4 kg. Experts confirmed that the seized substance was a drug, after which the man was taken into custody. This was reported on November 14 in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"During a search of the detainee's rented apartment, law enforcement officers found containers with traces of prohibited substances and items intended for packing and packaging," the Interior Ministry said.

According to the agency, the attacker planned to distribute the drug in the region through hidden bookmarks. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier that day, it was reported that in Yakutsk, police detained two 19-year-old students who were trying to sell more than 800 grams of hashish through bookmarks. The young men were stopped on Pokrovsky Tract, after which, during an inspection, 15 packages with a substance were found in one of them, and two packages with similar contents were found in the car interior.
