- A robot with artificial intelligence fell on stage during its presentation
During the demonstration of the first Russian anthropomorphic robot Aidol, development dropped. Footage from the presentation is published on November 11 by Izvestia.
This is the first robot in the country that is capable of movement, object manipulation and communication. Developed by the New Technology Coalition, Aidol can operate independently without an internet connection. Despite the incident, the developers emphasize the innovativeness of the project. It is claimed that the robot is equipped with a system of 19 servos that can reproduce 12 basic emotions, and is designed to work in the service sector, industry and public spaces.
The footage shows how the robot entered the stage, accompanied by two people. When he tried to wave his hand, he lost his balance and fell.
"We have tested more than once in different positions. <...> Here it is necessary to take into account that the situation was really different," said Vladimir Vitukhin, CEO of Aidol.
According to him, it is possible that the robot could not cope with the tasks due to insufficient lighting or a malfunction. He stressed that the team will analyze the errors.
Earlier, on July 21, it was reported that scientists at the Southern Federal University (SFU) have developed a robotic complex with neuromorphic technologies capable of imitating human sensory organs. It was specified that the developments could be used in rescue operations and in prosthetics.
