In the first 10 months of 2025, Russian exports of agricultural products to Uzbekistan increased by 15% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $938 million. This year, the republic has entered the top 10 largest buyers of Russian food products. This was reported to Izvestia on November 10 by the press service of the Agroexport Federal Center.

It is noted that Uzbekistan is an importer of a wide range of Russian agricultural products. The leading position this year is occupied by the supply of sugar and raw sugar: in January-October, they were shipped in the amount of $188 million, which is 37% more than in the first 10 months of 2024. Chocolate confectionery products are in second place in the supply structure, with exports to the Asian country increasing by 10% year-on-year to $82 million. Soy meal and cake are also among the top three ($61 million, 25%).

In addition, during the period under review, Russia significantly increased exports to Uzbekistan of bakery and flour confectionery products — by 20%, sweet carbonated drinks — by 21%, mayonnaise and sauces — by 25%, margarine — by 31%, cheeses and cottage cheese — by 34%, frozen fish — by 47%, feed for cats and dogs — by 56%, instant coffee — by 2 times, poultry meat — by 2.7 times, and live animals — by 12 times.

"Uzbekistan is one of Russia's strategic partners in the field of agriculture. Over the period from 2018 to 2024, the supply of domestic food to the Republic's market increased 2.8 times, and there are opportunities for further development of supplies to this market. According to our estimates, in 2030, exports of agricultural products to Uzbekistan may exceed $1.4 billion," said Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center.

According to Alexey Ulyanov, representative of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in Uzbekistan, Russia and Uzbekistan have been actively cooperating in the field of agriculture for many years, and the trade turnover between the two countries in the agricultural sector has been steadily increasing from year to year. In January-September 2025, the trade turnover increased by 20.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

"Russia is one of the key partner countries supplying agricultural products to Uzbekistan. In 2024, the share of domestic products in value terms in the structure of imports of agricultural products in Uzbekistan amounted to more than 24%. The local population traditionally notes the high quality of Russian products and their wide range," Ulyanov emphasized.

He drew attention to the fact that Russian agricultural exports to Uzbekistan are highly diversified, starting from the supply of ingredients for the food industry and ending with finished products on store shelves.

"In the current conditions, we see the potential to increase the supply of sugar, poultry meat, dairy and fish products, live cattle (cattle) and small cattle (SHEEP) and other products in demand on the local market," added the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture in Uzbekistan.

The Resource Group of agricultural enterprises has been cooperating with partners from the Agroexport Federal Center for the export of food products since 2016. According to a representative of the Resource group of agricultural enterprises, the company supplies broiler chicken meat and bottled sunflower oil. In addition, test shipments of wheat flour were carried out last year.

"In the first nine months of 2025, the volume of chicken meat exports exceeded the volume of supplies for 2024 as a whole by 12%," the company said.

According to the specialists of the GAP Resource, the Uzbek market presents prospects for further increasing sales and expanding the export portfolio through meat gastronomy and other product categories.

Earlier, on November 1, Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center, said that Russia is the leader among sunflower oil exporting countries. Experts estimate that almost 5.2 million tons of the product have entered foreign markets from Russia.
