U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum said that America cannot allow its allies to buy Russian and Iranian oil and gas. He said this on November 10 in an interview with Fox News channel.

"We cannot allow our allies to buy Russian or Iranian oil and gas," Burgum said.

He added that the issue of energy dependence is regularly raised during trade negotiations with other countries.

Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that US senators called on Hungary to abandon purchases of Russian energy resources before a meeting between Prime Minister Viktor Orban and US President Donald Trump. The congressmen stressed that the country shows no signs of reducing its dependence on Russian fuel, and recommended joining EU plans to end imports by 2027.
