Thousands of stamps with Nazi symbols tried to be imported to Ukraine from Poland
On the border with Poland, customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally import more than 14,000 postage stamps with Nazi symbols into Ukraine. This was reported on November 10 by the RBC-Ukraine news agency.
At the Shegini—Medica checkpoint, customs officers stopped a vehicle, the driver of which chose the "red corridor" lane and declared 350 kg of used clothes. In addition, stamps with prohibited symbols were found.
"During the inspection of the car, customs officers found 14,487 postage stamps hidden among the clothes. These stamps bear the symbols of the National socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regime, the import of which is prohibited according to the Law of Ukraine No. 317-VIII "On the condemnation of the Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols," the agency reports the message of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
It is specified that the value of the seized stamps is estimated on the black market at more than 1.5 million hryvnias ($ 35.7 thousand).
On October 27, Altai customs officers stopped an attempt to import into Russia a batch of Ukrainian chocolate, which is under sanctions restrictions, with a total weight of 714 kg. According to the press service, the cargo was found in a car traveling from Kazakhstan. The vehicle with the delayed products has been returned to the sender.
