The Moscow Region, as well as the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, will participate in an experiment on accounting for bank receipts when assigning a single child benefit in 2026. This is evidenced by the data published on November 6 on the website of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

As part of the pilot project, the volume of turnover in the bank accounts of families applying for a single payment will be assessed. The experiment will be conducted in three stages: first, a test site will be prepared by July 31, 2026, then from August to September, the methodology for calculating account turnover will be tested, and the final stage, from October to December, will end with a decision on the appointment of benefits.

The aim of the experiment is to help families whose income is below the subsistence level through a comprehensive need assessment to assign a single benefit.

On October 13, Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, announced the need to increase the single allowance for children. According to the politician, currently it can range from 50% to 100% of the minimum subsistence level, however, in his opinion, the amount of required funds should be at least one minimum subsistence level, for children under three years of age — 150%, for single parents — 200% of the minimum subsistence level. Mironov called for matching the amount of the allowance to the real consumer basket, which costs an average of 43-45 thousand rubles.
