Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on November 2 that early elections would be held in the country amid protests.

"Respecting the demands of the blockers, who constitute a significant minority in our country, we will meet them halfway, and the elections will be held ahead of schedule. When? The decision on this will be made by the competent authorities," the Serbian newspaper Srbija Danas quoted him as saying.

It is also clarified that discussions about new elections and dates have been going on for several weeks. According to media reports, the most mentioned date is next year.

On November 2, mass protests took place in the center of Belgrade. A crowd gathered outside the parliament building, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision of the authorities, who forbade the female activist to set up a tent and go on a hunger strike. The next day, Serbian police detained the man who had provoked the riots.
