37 people were detained in connection with the riots in front of the National Assembly building in Belgrade. Among them is the former basketball player of the Serbian national team, Vladimir Stimac, the Blic newspaper reported, citing the country's Interior Ministry.

"This evening, by order of the Belgrade High Prosecutor's Office, the staff of the Criminal Police Department arrested former basketball player Vladimir Stimac," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, he is suspected of calling for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order.

Earlier, on November 2, mass protests took place in the center of Belgrade. A crowd gathered outside the parliament building, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision of the authorities, who forbade the female activist to set up a tent and go on a hunger strike. As a result of the clashes, one of the policemen suffered a leg injury. On November 3, Serbian police detained a man who provoked riots.
