Used cars began to sell faster in Moscow and St. Petersburg

Thus, according to the study, activity in Russia as a whole stabilized in the fall after the August growth, and the average sales time in the dealer segment remained virtually unchanged. Cars under the age of two and from six to nine years old went to new owners in an average of 33 days, and the oldest (over 10 years old) — in 27 days.

At the same time, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, sales of used cars accelerated in almost all price and age categories. In the Moscow region, this segment lost six days in terms of sales at once — now the car leaves in an average of 25 days. The pace of sales of cars for 3-5 years turned out to be the most stable — it takes a little more than a month (37 days) to sell them, although this is only three days more than before.

In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the main changes occurred in the group of cars aged 3-5 years, the sale time was reduced by seven days: now 29 days are enough for the transaction. Fresh cars (up to two years old) they began to find new owners five days faster, on average per month. A slight slowdown was observed only in the age segment, where consumer activity decreased slightly.

Analysts noted that demand for cars is traditionally growing in the fall. In addition, the capitals react noticeably faster to any changes in the economic situation — against the background of news about increased recycling, many potential owners are afraid of further price increases, so they accelerate their purchase decision.

Temporary balance: the used car market has stabilized

Since the beginning of the year, more than 4.4 million used cars have been sold in Russia.

Prior to that, on October 29, it was reported that most often in the third quarter of this year, in the segment of used cars, Russians wanted to purchase Lada Granta on credit, and on average the requested amount for used cars was 1.18 million rubles.
