The resumption of nuclear testing in the United States will take about 36 months.
The United States will not be able to quickly resume nuclear tests, which were previously announced by President Donald Trump. This will take at least 36 months, Daryl Kimball, director of the Arms Control Association, said on his Facebook page on October 29.
"Trump is misinformed and out of touch with life. The United States has no technical, military, or political reason to resume nuclear explosive testing for the first time since 1992," Kimball wrote.
He clarified that even when making a decision, we are talking about localized underground tests at a former test site in Nevada, which will require significant preparation and time.
Earlier in the day, Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social network that he had instructed the US Department of War to begin testing nuclear weapons "on an equal basis." He explained that such a decision is connected with the active developments of Russia and China.
