Love will save the world, according to the creators of the film "The Aviator" based on the novel of the same name by Evgeny Vodolazkin. Love for loved ones, says Cannes prize winner Joachim Trier, director of the family drama "Sentimental Value." The love of money, the owners of the Illusion of Deception franchise correct, who are releasing their third film about fraudulent magicians on wide screens. The love of cinema, Richard Linklater, who shot the biographical film about Godard, The New Wave, conciliatingly declares. And we, as moviegoers, completely agree with the latter. Izvestia tells about the most interesting pictures of the November movie poster.

Through a gap in reality, hordes of bloodthirsty monsters from another dimension have entered our world. Caught off guard, humanity was unable to resist them. But there were those who managed to hide, so that, having studied the enemy, they could eventually fight back. Five years after the invasion, a father hides his teenage daughter on an island, teaching her what she needs to know to survive. And when the island ceases to be a safe haven, the girl is ready to face evil in order to save her life and the lives of others.

The creator of "Destroyer of Worlds," Brad Anderson, is a recognized expert in creating action on a limited budget, as evidenced by the series "Peacemaker" and "Invasion," where Anderson edited a number of episodes dedicated specifically to humanity's struggle with aliens. He's doing an impressive job. Starring Milla Jovovich, who proved herself to be an exemplary fighter against evil spirits in Resident Evil. In general, fans of the genre will definitely not be disappointed.

The "New Wave"

In 1960, film critic Jean-Luc Godard, convinced of his own directorial genius, made his first feature film. There is practically no budget, which means that you will have to get out of it: Godard invites his friend Jean-Paul Belmondo for the main role, and the shooting is carried out with a handheld camera. But that's what Godard needs: he's looking for a new film language, so filming locations are chosen chaotically, the actors improvise some of the dialogues, and the ragged editing gives the film a freedom of rhythm unprecedented in the old cinema. The film "On the Last Breath" becomes a cult film, and Godard turns into an icon of the new wave of French cinema.

Forty-five years later, director Richard Linklater is making a film about this story. Being a true fan of the French new wave and calling Godard, Chabrol and Truffaut his teachers, he shoots it with maximum respect and the necessary degree of delight, but still does not forget about improvisation, freedom of interpretation and pseudo-amateur style of shooting. Therefore, the film is in black and white, jazz is playing behind the scenes, and everyone is speaking exclusively in French (which, generally speaking, for an American director there is courage bordering on madness), but it all seems to add up to an insanely charming picture that clearly betrays the director's own admiration for the masters. They would have liked it: the student really understood a lot.

In early childhood, Kristina lived in the Far North with her stepfather, a reindeer herder. At the age of seven, she was accepted into the Vologda Ballet Boarding school, but even here she has a difficult time: a girl with Asperger's syndrome has difficulty finding a common language with the people around her and the world. Kristina's great talent is noticed by the rector of the Moscow Ballet Academy, who came to watch, and soon Kristina finds herself in Moscow. It's still hard for her to follow the established rules and regulations, but her talent and ability to work can lead her to the stars. Teachers will have to decide whether they are ready to forgive the talent for non-standard behavior in order to discover a new star ...

Before "Pointe Shoes for my mother," Yana Nedzvetskaya made only four films, only one of which is full-length, and all of them belong to the cinema of the author, no doubt curious, but not always successful on the big screens. Starring Inna Novikova, a young ballerina from Revda. Since childhood, having fallen ill with ballet, the girl and her parents went to classes all the way to Yekaterinburg to make sure that she was worthy of her chosen vocation. At the age of 11, without any patronage, she entered the Moscow Academy of Choreography, studied at its Kaliningrad branch and has already received first prizes at prestigious metropolitan choreographic competitions. Whatever the fate of her character in Pointe Shoes, teenagers will be pleased with the idea that the dream is achievable.

"The Illusion of deception – 3"

The legendary Four Horsemen team of fraudulent illusionists is getting back together, with a young addition. Jay Daniel Atlas and his former accomplices are hunting for the diamond "Diamond Heart", the most expensive gemstone in history. Its keepers are the Vanderberg family, who have been selling jewelry for decades to those who need to launder money. But no one can resist the eight professional magicians — neither the diamond mining concern, nor the largest criminal group!

The franchise about funny magicians who have found a criminal use for their talents has been collecting very sour reviews from critics from the very beginning — and numerous audience awards. Watching another "Illusion of deception" is better than visiting a fairy tale: after all, there is also a strong criminal plot. A lot of explosions, a lot of surprises, a lot of fights — and a lot of tricks, of course. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Morgan Freeman are in their places. Fans of the franchise will be especially pleased with the return of Isla Fisher, who missed the second film due to pregnancy.

After the death of their mother, the grieving sisters Nora and Agnes are visited by their father, a film director whom they have not seen for many years: he left them without explanation. He invites Nora, a theater actress, to star in a film that should be the pinnacle of his career, but she refuses, unable to forgive her father. As a result, the role is given to a young American starlet who finds herself in the middle of a family conflict: despite Nora's refusal, the director tries to use the filming process to establish relations with his daughters.

Norwegian Joakim Trier once again confidently proves that the Scandinavian new wave has come to cinema in earnest and for a long time. His previous film, "The Worst Man in the World," won Renate Reinswe the Palme d'Or at Cannes for Best Actress, and the director himself received two Oscar nominations. In the current film, Trier and Reinswe are working together again, and she has already won the Grand Prix of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

"The Aviator"

The year is 2026. Konstantin Geiger, Professor of Molecular Biology (Konstantin Khabensky — "Major Thunder", "Empire under Attack"), together with his wife Anastasia, conduct research in the field of cryonics. After discovering human bodies frozen in 1929 during a classified experiment, they transport them to a laboratory for research. One of the frozen, a man named Innokenty Platonov, regains consciousness, but does not remember his past. Gradually, through fragments of memories, Platonov begins to reconstruct his biography: he was once an inventor, passionate about aviation, and loved a girl very similar to Geiger's current wife. Scientists are approaching the greatest discovery that can give mankind immortality, but the closer the characters get to solving the mystery, the clearer it becomes — the price may be too high...

Based on Evgeny Vodolazkin's novel The Aviator, the filmmakers spared no effort to recreate several time layers in detail with recognizable and authentic everyday details. But if everything is fine with the space of the picture, then over time, it seems, there was a mistake: the screenwriters seemed to have made a mistake for three decades, shifting the main character's backstory from the first half of the century to the 1960s, when all we needed was love. In the novel, Vodolazkin asks eternal philosophical questions about the foregone conclusion of historical choice, the will of man to create his own destiny and the inevitable measure of responsibility that everyone gets according to his deeds. In the film, the bloodiest historical layers are carefully cleaned out, but with due care and breathlessness, a rather banal love triangle is written out, the resolution of which should determine the fate of mankind. To be honest, the idea is frightening: science could claim a more important role in our future in a movie about scientists.
