Trump is saddened by the inability to run for a third presidential term

US President Donald Trump has admitted that he is sorry that the Constitution does not allow him to run for a third term. He stated this to reporters on October 29 aboard the presidential plane en route from Japan to the Republic of Korea.

The American leader's comment followed the words of Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, who earlier noted that there are no legislative grounds for a third presidential term.

"Based on what I'm reading, I'm not allowed to run [for president] for the third time. We'll see what happens," Trump said.

He added that he regrets the restriction set out in the American Constitution.

"If you read it, it will be quite clear to you that I cannot run. It's a pity," the president stressed.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Donald Trump arrived in the Republic of Korea to attend the APEC summit and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
