"In France, hundreds of additional beds are being created at an accelerated pace in hospitals to receive the wounded. French doctors are undergoing special medical training to work in the field," the ministry said in a statement.

The document notes that French President Emmanuel Macron is seriously considering the possibility of military intervention in the Ukrainian conflict.

On the same day, the SVR said that Macron had issued an order to deploy a French military contingent of up to 2,000 troops in the military conflict zone in Ukraine.
