Analysts recorded the growth of the Russian car market in October
By the end of October, sales of new passenger cars in Russia may reach about 160 thousand units. This was announced at the CarXL conference on October 28 by Sergey Udalov, Executive director of the Autostat analytical agency, Izvestia correspondent reports.
"Now the situation of last year is almost completely repeated, when in the middle of autumn there was a noticeable growth in the market. Last October, a record was set when almost 180,000 new cars were sold. We expect sales to reach about 160,000 vehicles this October. This is primarily due to the current information field: just like a year ago, people are trying to buy a car, fearing that they will rise in price in the near future," Udalov said.
Depending on the market segment, the dynamics of car prices varies unevenly. In the first nine months, the average price of new cars increased by 2.5% and amounted to 3.2 million rubles. The leaders in sales of new cars for the first nine months are Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Krasnodar Territory, Tatarstan and the Samara Region.
The average price of a used car in Russia decreased by 1.5% to 1.16 million rubles, Udalov said. According to analysts, in January –September, the average price for a used passenger car at the age of 11 is 610 thousand rubles (-2%). The most serious increase was in prices for used models aged 4-5 years (+11%), to 3.04 million rubles. The largest decrease in prices during this period was recorded for cars 3 years old and younger — up to 3.16 million rubles (-4%).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the BMW brand became the leader of the Russian car market in sales of new premium cars by the end of September 2022. The last time she had this status was in April 2022.
