In the summer, many Russians face large expenses — a vacation trip, children's school fees. Autumn is becoming a time for budget recovery, which for some companies results in drawdowns in demand. Calltouch experts conducted a study, which was reviewed by Izvestia on October 31, and found out how Russians restore the family budget after significant expenses.

Many Russians spend extra money in the summer on vacations (34%) and summer entertainment (26%). In families with children, spending increases at the end of summer, when preparations for kindergarten and school begin (26%). Some Russians prefer to spend their summers outside the city, which also involves additional expenses. 15% have increasing expenses for country work, and 6% rent a house for the summer. One in ten survey participants admitted that they spend more in the summer simply because of the good weather.

The study drew attention to the fact that not all Russians start saving after spending heavily. Almost a third of the respondents (31%) said they plan their budget in advance, so even after expensive purchases, there is no need to cut costs. Another 11% takes out a loan or an installment plan in order not to reduce expenses and not to change their usual lifestyle.

Most often, Russians start saving on entertainment and shopping. The first to reduce expenses are cafes and restaurants (41%), travel (34%), purchase of new clothes, cosmetics (33%). People are least likely to save on their own development: only 16% of respondents reduce spending on education and courses, and even less (15%) on sports, health, and beauty services.

"News about increased recycling can stimulate car sales, and changes such as rising inflation, an increase in the VAT rate to 22% or a reduction in the tax threshold to 10 million rubles can significantly affect small businesses. In order to stimulate sales during this period, it is possible to strengthen work with the current customer base — to remind customers about regular purchases, to make an individual offer based on the history of customer interaction with the company," said Artur Sargsyan, CEO of Calltouch.

Most often, people don't cut back on spending on themselves.: These are health maintenance (39%), education and self-development (23%), rest, comfort and impressions (16%). Family expenses are in second place: 36% are not ready to save money on helping loved ones, 24% on buying children's clothes and accessories. Another 15% retain all spending on subscriptions and digital services. Confidence in the future is also important for people. So, 26% do not save on investments, they continue to make savings in the same volume.

In addition, many Russians experience negative emotions about seasonal spending. One in five survey participants said they were annoyed by rising prices and costs. Russians also feel anxious about the family budget and tired of having to count pennies (10% each). Many people are thinking about how to increase their income: they are thinking about finding a part-time job (17%) or changing jobs (15%). However, not all respondents feel negative about the increase in expenses in the summer. So, 15% are happy and believe that the expenses were worth it, and 12% are calm because they plan all expenses in advance.

On October 28, Olga Matveeva, financial consultant for X5's Package service, gave Izvestia tips on a conscious approach to shopping to save money. According to her, the basis is strategic planning. Before going to the store, study the promotions in mobile apps and make a shopping list. Loyalty programs and cashback services will bring maximum benefits.: they earn points and return part of the money spent, turning ordinary purchases into a source of additional benefits.
