The alleged abductions in St. Petersburg of Zenit football player Andrei Mostovoy, as well as the son-in-law of State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Makarov, Sergei Selegen, are not in Russia. This became known on October 27 from the interrogation of the detained performers, a recording of which was published by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.

The defendants admitted that they had staged the detention of a man. Their actions on the phone were led by a man who was not in Russia. They had never seen him personally.

"I only know that he (the customer. — Ed.) not from Russia. <...> They did not tell us [where the customer is from]," said one of the defendants.

Earlier in the day, a source from Izvestia reported an attempted abduction of football player Mostovoy. It was noted that a group of unknown people attacked the athlete. As a result, the young man managed to fight off the kidnappers. Soon after, five suspects were detained in St. Petersburg. A criminal case was also opened into the incident under Articles 126 ("Kidnapping") and 162 ("Robbery") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Four of the defendants testified that they corresponded with the customer, Slava the Satanist, communicating in the Telegram messenger. One of the detainees, Vadim Chertukhin, said that he needed money because his father had recently undergone surgery. He assured that he was only doing various jobs unrelated to kidnapping.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
