The abduction of football player Andrei Mostovoy — what happened

On Monday, October 27, it became known about the attempted abduction of Zenit midfielder Andrei Mostovoy. Several masked men attacked the athlete and tried to force him into a car, but the footballer managed to resist and escape.

Two days later, a new crime occurred at the same place. This time, the attackers targeted businessman Sergei Selegen, the son—in-law of State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Makarov. They followed a similar pattern and were able to put the victim in the car. The car was immediately put on the wanted list, and it was soon found.

According to Irina Volk, an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the victim was forcibly put in a car, handcuffed and took away his phone, and then, threatening with a pistol, demanded 10 million rubles. Fearing for his safety, the man transferred 210 thousand rubles to the criminals, promising that his wife would deliver the remaining amount. What is known about the criminals who planned the kidnapping of Andrei Mostovoy

A criminal case was opened in St. Petersburg under Articles 126 ("Kidnapping") and 162 ("Robbery") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In total, the police detained five suspects.

According to the testimony of the detainees, the organizer of the criminal group was a man known by the nickname Slava the Satanist. Contact with him was established through the Telegram messenger.

One of the defendants confirmed that the purpose was to extort money. According to the plan, the victim was supposed to be forced to transfer funds from bank accounts or cryptocurrency wallets to banking details sent to Telegram. Another suspect stated that the incident was not a kidnapping, but a "staged detention" carried out on the instructions of the same Satanist.

One of the detainees, Vadim Chertukhin, explained his participation in the attacks by the need for money due to the operation performed by his father.

"I was offered a job by a man, a job as an athlete. We contacted Slava, and after that we started working. Slava is a Satanist — I do not know who this is, I have never heard a voice in my life," he said during interrogation.

At the same time, according to Chertukhin himself, he did not participate in the abductions.

A tattoo with the number 1312 can also be seen on the detainee's chest, which is a coded abbreviation for ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards). This abbreviation became widespread in the early 1980s in correctional institutions in the United States, and later representatives of various subcultures began to use it.

In addition, the criminals provided the investigation with their correspondence with the curator in Telegram.
