Car sales in Russia have exceeded 1 million units since the beginning of the year

By the end of October, the Russian car market had surpassed the mark of 1 million units. This was reported on October 27 by the analytical agency Autostat.

According to the agency, a total of 1 million 34.5 thousand new passenger cars were sold in 43 weeks. At the end of last week, 35.3 thousand cars were sold, which is 8% more than in the same period last year. Experts noted that the Russian car market has shown positive dynamics for the second week in a row, and for the fifth week in a row, sales have exceeded 30,000 units.

On the 40th week, a record of the year was set (41.3 thousand units). The current 44th week may become a record again, partly because it is longer than usual, experts suggested.

Analysts noted the strengthening of the positions of non-Chinese brands. Last week, Belarusian Belgee, as well as Russian Tenet and Solaris, took the fourth to sixth places, while Changan and Chery dropped to seventh and eighth places, respectively. Toyota and Exeed rounded out the top ten. The top three remained the same — Lada, Haval and Geely.

Earlier, on October 20, it was reported that the number of dealerships in Russia in the first nine months of 2025 decreased by 125, to 4,036 units. According to the study, 513 new car dealerships were opened in Russia in three quarters, while 638 were closed.
