Drivers in Russia may receive a fine for driving on summer tires after December 1. This was announced on October 25 by an expert from the Popular Front. Analytics", co-chairman of the Ivanovo regional branch of the Popular Front, auto lawyer, forensic auto expert Alexander Kasyanenko.

"The traffic police inspector is authorized to issue a fine for the use of summer tires from December 1 to February 28 (29), and for the operation of winter studded tires — from June to August. At the moment, the administrative fine for using off—season rubber is the same for all regions of Russia and amounts to 500 rubles," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The expert clarified that as early as September 1, 2023, a ban on the use of summer tires in winter and studded tires in summer came into force. According to Kasyanenko, only all-season tires can be used all year round.

On September 2, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia clarified the amount of the new duties. So, starting from September 1, a new state duty was introduced for making changes to the Unified Automated Information System for Technical Inspection (UAISTO) when issuing a diagnostic card based on the results of the inspection in the amount of 500 rubles.
