On October 20, Alexander Yanenko, Deputy Head of the Kurchatov Complex of NBICS-Nature-like technologies, spoke about the new national project of the Government of the Russian Federation "Bioeconomics". Izvestia shared footage of his speech at the International Forum of Nature-like Technologies.

"The government <...> decides to prepare a national project to ensure technological leadership. <..."The purpose of this national project <...> is to create a new high—tech economic structure in the country based on biotechnologies and renewable resources," Yanenko said.

He specified that the project extends until 2050 and is divided into two stages. At the first stage, until 2036— it is planned to ensure Russia's sovereignty, since, according to Yanenko, most Russian biotechnology products are imported. Thus, work will be carried out on the restoration and creation of critical biotechnology products.

Earlier, on September 3, Nikita Marchenkov, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, said during the session of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025) that Russia had become one of the first countries to actively develop nature–like technologies. According to him, bioeconomics is part of the national projects of technological leadership of the Russian Federation.
