In the West, they deny any voices that voice reasonable thoughts about Russia. This was announced on October 12 by the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov.

"There's such a degree of hatred. The united hatred of Europeans towards Russia means that this hatred is difficult to drill, even using an American drill <...> voices that say something reasonable are immediately drowned in waves of hatred," he told journalist Pavel Zarubin.

He noted that this voice closes the door for them to somehow find some nuances in their relationship with Moscow and pointed out Europe's credulity to "unfounded accusations" against Russia.

On October 11, Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, said that the anti-Russian rhetoric of EU politicians is primarily aimed at strengthening their own power within the alliance. According to him, "the crisis is a good way to centralize power in the European Union."
