- Orban announced the beginning of Hungary's collection of signatures against Brussels' military plans
On October 11, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the start of collecting signatures among the population against the military plans of the European Union (EU).
"We must show once again that the Hungarian people do not want war. That is why today we are starting to collect signatures against Brussels' military plans. We will collect them in every city and village, because now we need every peace—loving Hungarian," Orban wrote on his Facebook page (the social network belongs to the Meta company, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
According to Orban, Europe is heading towards war faster and faster.
He noted that a few weeks ago, a Brussels military plan was presented in Copenhagen, according to which Europe pays, the Ukrainians are fighting, "and Russia will be exhausted."
The EU countries held a summit in Copenhagen on October 1-2, its main topics were Europe's defense against Russia and the Ukrainian conflict. The European Conservative noted that the leaders of the EU countries confirmed their policy of strengthening military support for Ukraine and further militarization of the bloc. The main focus was on deepening centralized control and expanding defense capabilities.
