Poland refused to shoot down missiles over Ukraine without NATO's consent
Poland will not shoot down missiles over Ukraine without the consent of NATO. This was announced on October 10 by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Radoslaw Sikorski.
"NATO has an integrated air defense system, and such decisions should be made by the entire NATO, not just Poland," the Polish foreign minister said at a press conference, the video from which was broadcast by the Ukrainian TV channel News Live.
Sikorski explained that Poland understands Kiev's concerns, but cannot take such measures on its own without the alliance's approval, as this is associated with high risks of escalation.
On September 29, Sikorsky said that the conflict in Ukraine could end according to the scenario of the First World War. According to him, at some point the conflict will allegedly reach the extreme exhaustion of one of the parties. And, as a result, she simply won't want to continue fighting.
