- Investigators named the main version of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family. What is known
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the search continues for the Usoltsev family, who disappeared while walking in the Mitina Loop area. On Friday, October 10, rescuers managed to reach the place where Sergei Usoltsev's phone signal was last recorded, but no traces of tourists have yet been found. Law enforcement officers consider an accident as the main version of the disappearance. For more information, see the Izvestia article.
New versions of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family
Rescuers reached the place where the signal of Sergei Usoltsev's mobile phone was recorded, RT reported on October 10. The last time the device was online was on September 28, the day the family disappeared. So far, it has not been possible to find tourists or their tracks.
According to an RT law enforcement source, the main version of what happened is an accident. The version about the deliberate disappearance of the Usoltsevs is not being considered. Investigators have already searched their home and found no evidence that the family was planning to leave. In addition, all the documents and valuables of the missing remained in the car, which was found locked in the village of Kuchurin. The criminal theory is also not being considered.
The RT interlocutor noted that there is practically no chance of finding the Usoltsevs alive.
Other hypotheses have been considered previously. According to one of them, tourists encountered a wild animal and got lost trying to escape. They could also have lost their way due to the fog. According to another version, Sergei could have become ill, and his wife and daughter could not get out of the taiga. In addition, there is a possibility that the Usoltsevs fell into a cavity in the rocks.
What are the conditions for rescuers looking for the Usoltsevs' family?
According to Vladislav Velichko, coordinator and regional representative of the LizaAlert volunteer search and rescue team, the search for the Usoltsev family is being conducted in extreme conditions.
"Hiking groups work in extreme conditions that we have never encountered before. People are working up to their waists in the snow, getting injured," he told TASS.
The coordinator noted that at the moment the search engines have covered more than 4.5 thousand km. Aviation, drones, ATVs and special equipment are also involved in the operation.
Grigory Sergeev, Chairman of LizaAlert, told the Zvezda TV channel that due to the weather conditions in the search area, it is impossible to fully use the helicopter and drones. According to him, aircraft-type drones quickly become icy, and the helicopter is constantly forced to return to base due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions.
The search is also complicated by difficult terrain, low temperatures and an abundance of snow.
How the Usoltsevs' family was searched for in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
Sergey and Irina Usoltsev, with their five-year-old daughter Arina and a corgi dog, disappeared on September 28. They left the village of Kuturchin in the direction of Kuturchinsky Belogorye, after which communication with them was lost. Initially, the family was going to go as part of a group, but due to the weather conditions, the hike was canceled.
The search began on October 1, when the Usoltsevs' eldest son contacted the police, concerned about the lack of news from his parents. On the same day, their car was found abandoned in the village of Kuturchin. Later, on October 6, it turned out that the family was heading to Mount Pinocchio — other tourists had seen them shortly before their disappearance.
On Thursday, October 9, law enforcement officers established the location of the last radio signal from Sergei Usoltsev's phone — it was received 7 km from Kuturchin, from where the path of the missing began. At the moment, the search is focused in this area.
According to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 234 people and 51 pieces of equipment took part in the search operation over the past day. During the day, aircraft and drones conducted reconnaissance on an area of 427.9 square kilometers. It is noted that despite the weather conditions, the search will continue.
