The latest news about the missing Usoltsev family

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, cartographers of the LizaAlert search and rescue team have identified the location from where the phone signal of the head of the missing Usoltsev family, Sergei, was last received. It was recorded 7 km from the village of Kuturchin in the Partizansky district.

This was reported in the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.

"Currently, the search for the family is focused on rough terrain in the designated square," the investigative committee said.

It turns out that up to this point, part of the forces of the search groups were not concentrated in the place where the Usoltsevs disappeared. This territory "is located behind the search area, in the opposite direction from the village," it cites NGS24.RU the words of the representative of the regional Investigative Committee Yulia Arbuzova.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, off-road vehicles and a helicopter are used for the search. Weather conditions complicate the work: heavy snow cover and low air temperature. The investigation is ongoing. More than 100 people are looking for a family.

Earlier, IT expert Eldar Murtazin explained how the signal of Sergei Usoltsev's switched-off phone could be detected.

As the expert explained in a conversation with aif.ru Some phone models have a lost device activation mode.: It gives a signal every 15-20 minutes and can be found using other devices. It is possible that the phone number of the head of the Usoltsev family could be determined in this way.

How they searched for the Usoltsevs near Pinocchio

The Usoltsevs' family disappeared 12 days ago, on September 28, and there is still no information about them or traces of them. According to eyewitnesses, the family was dressed in light clothes. Snow has already fallen in the area of their disappearance.

During the search, experts and investigators put forward various versions of what could have happened to the 64-year-old head of the family, 48-year-old wife and five-year-old daughter. According to one version of the investigators, they could have lost their way (for example, having met a bear), found shelter for themselves and waited for help there. On the other — to fall into one of the crevices in the area. According to the third version, the head of the family became ill, and his wife and daughter could not return home on their own.

Experts are putting forward other versions of what happened. So, it is claimed that there are many grottoes in the area where the phone signal was recorded. There is hope that the Usoltsevs could have taken shelter from the weather in one of them.

Information about the disappearance of the Usoltsev family in the forest near the Minsk loop appeared on October 2. It was reported that a man and a woman born in 1961 and 1977, as well as their five-year-old child, were wanted. It is known that they were heading towards Mount Pinocchio, but five days later, without contacting their relatives, their whereabouts remained unknown. Later, their car was found.

Oksana Zhdanyuk, a friend of the missing Irina Usoltseva, also told Izvestia that the family did not share details of their route, and they probably changed the original plan. One of the alleged versions of the disappearance says that the man became ill, and his companions — a woman with a child — could not find a way back.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, over the past day, ground teams have surveyed 40 square kilometers of forest and 515 km of forest roads. A volunteer drone was also used, and all approaches to the rock massif of the Pinocchio and Malvinka mountains are being checked. In total, more than 800 square kilometers were "combed" during the search.

Pinocchio's people had already disappeared before

The Usoltsev family are not the first people to disappear on this route, REN TV notes.

In 2018, 66-year-old engineer Viktor Vinogradov, along with his dog named Thor, also went to this forest to collect chanterelles and also disappeared.

The search began relatively late, on the sixth day, because no one was in constant contact with the man. During the search, no trace of the man was found, although rescuers then combed the forest length and breadth.

That story ended well: three weeks later, Victor, along with the pet in his arms, went out to people himself. All this time he was eating mountain ash and during this time he reached extreme exhaustion, losing 15 kg.
