Demand for new Chinese cars in Russia has increased by 34% since the beginning of the year

Demand for new Chinese cars in Russia increased by 34.1% in the third quarter of this year compared to the first quarter. On October 10, experts from Avito Avto told Izvestia about this, who collected data on the number of phone views by the seller and chats in each ad on the platform.

The cars of the SWM, Li Auto, Jetour, Hongqi and Voyah brands became the most popular among users during this period. Among the models, the SWM G05 Pro, Jetour X70 Plus, Haval M6, Jetour Dashing and Haval Jolion were in the highest demand.

Since the beginning of the year, Li Auto (demand increased 3.7 times), Chery (+65.5%), Geely (+50%), Jetour (+48.3%) and Voyah (+41.3%) brands have become noticeably more popular. Among the models, the best dynamics were recorded for the Jetour X70 Plus (3.1 times), Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max (2.8 times), Geely Emgrand (2.7 times), Changan CS75 Plus (2.5 times) and Chery Tiggo 9 (1.9 times).

It is noted that many models have noticeably fallen in price during this period. Among them, for example, Chery Tiggo 9 (-10.5%), HAVAL M6 (-7.8%), Voyah Free (-7.7%), as well as Omoda C5 and Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max (-7.2% each).

Prices on the car market decreased more than the national average in the Tomsk Region (-17.9%; up to 2.75 million rubles), the Pskov Region (-17.6%; up to 2.65 million rubles), the Republic of Mari El (-15.8%; 2.4 million rubles), the Altai Territory (-11.2%; up to 3.11 million rubles) and the Tver region (-11.1%; up to 3.11 million rubles). Experts noted that the dynamics of the average price depends not only on changes in the cost of a particular model, but also on changes in the market structure — the more available versions of a particular model or budget vehicles of a particular brand, the lower their average price.

Earlier, on October 7, it was reported that in the third quarter of 2025, the average price of a new car in Russia decreased by 3% compared to January –March and amounted to 2.83 million rubles. The most popular cars in July – September were Solaris, Moskvich, Lada, Jetour and JAC brands.
