Tests of the new generation LiAZ bus have begun in Moscow.

Tests of the new Citymax 12 bus with an increased comfort level have begun on suburban route 1383 from Planernaya metro station to Khimki. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this on October 9 in its Telegram channel.

Citymax 12 is manufactured by the Likinsk Bus Factory (LiAZ). The presentation of the model took place last year, and the company underwent a large-scale modernization to produce the car.

The advantages of the Citymax 12 over earlier bus models include a record low floor area in the cabin (13.6 square meters), increased width of doorways, aisles between seats and a storage area, and a large glazing area, which makes the cabin brighter and the view improved.

The independent front suspension and the use of modern materials in the body structure ensure a smoother and quieter ride. Vertical handrails were fixed to the side of the body, movement around the cabin became freer.
In addition, the bus has green and red lights on the doors, warning of their opening and closing.

According to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, based on the results of operation in different road and weather conditions, the possibility of purchasing Citymax 12 for operation on adjacent routes in the Moscow region will be considered. The average age of land transport in Moscow remains one of the lowest in Russia and Europe, he noted.

Earlier, on September 26, the Pavlovsky Bus Factory started production of the new Citymax 8 model. The bus is 8.1 m long and has a capacity of 32 passengers. Such transport is in demand on routes with low passenger traffic.
