German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's accusations against Russia over incidents involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) allegedly launched into the European Union (EU) are groundless. This was announced on October 7 by the representative of the Republican opposition, Tino Fragalla.

"How did Friedrich Merz come to this assumption in the first place? Kremlin spokesman [Dmitry Peskov] has denied these accusations, and the facts, at least for the moment, speak in his favor," he said.

The politician also noted that the German Chancellor, instead of providing explanations of the current situation, begins to broadcast hysteria and accuse Moscow, without having evidence.

Merz on Monday, October 6, said that reconnaissance drones had been spotted over the territory of his state and called this situation a "serious threat." On the same day, the Kremlin's official representative, commenting on this information, said that many European politicians often unfairly accuse the Russian Federation of "really strange" incidents with alleged UAVs over their countries.
