Hutsul's international lawyers have announced that they are preparing arguments for her release.

International lawyers got acquainted with the conditions of detention of the head of the Gagauz Autonomy of Moldova, Evgenia Gutsul, in prison. This was announced on October 7 by well-known European lawyers William Julie and Gonzalo Boye.

According to them, human rights activists have already prepared arguments that they will submit to the Appeals Chamber for consideration of the Bashkan Gagauzia case.

"Everything depends on tomorrow's meeting. If Yevgenia is released tomorrow, she will have the opportunity to serve her sentence under house arrest. If not, we will use all international and international mechanisms to get her released, because she should not be in prison," Julie said, quoted by the Gagauzia24 Telegram channel.

He added that Hutsul is full of enthusiasm and does not give up hope, despite the conditions in which she finds herself. She misses her children very much and is determined to keep fighting.

On August 5, the head of Gagauzia was sentenced to seven years in prison in the case of allegedly financing the Shor party. Initially, the prosecutor's office requested nine years. On the same day, Hutsul reported on the great support provided to her. Gagauz residents gathered outside the courthouse, where her family members were not allowed to enter at the time of sentencing. Later, on August 13, international lawyers joined in defending the Hutsuls' interests.

On September 12, Julie told Izvestia that the prison where Hutsul is being held has been recognized by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as a very harsh place where articles of the ECHR are violated on a daily basis. In addition, he pointed out the problems of the Hutsul case management. According to the lawyer, of the 200 witnesses who were petitioned by the defense, the court agreed to interrogate only 20 people, without explaining the reasons for rejecting the remaining candidates.
