Participants in the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan confirmed their readiness to continue humanitarian support to the Afghan people. This was announced on October 7 on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The parties confirmed their readiness to continue humanitarian support to the Afghan people and called on the international community to step up the provision of emergency humanitarian assistance, while confirming the inadmissibility of its politicization," the statement said.

Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus took part in the event.

In addition, the event highlighted the importance of developing trade and economic ties between Afghanistan and neighboring countries and the international community, as well as the active participation of the state in regional economic projects. The participants expressed their willingness to promote progress in areas such as health, agriculture, poverty reduction and disaster prevention.

The States also expressed their concern about the deployment of military infrastructure in Afghanistan and neighboring countries, as such actions "do not meet the interests of regional peace and stability."

On September 21, US President Donald Trump announced that he expects Afghanistan to transfer the Bagram airbase under the control of the United States. According to the American leader, Washington wants to return her as soon as possible. He also threatened consequences if Afghanistan refused to comply with US demands.

On October 7, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the military presence of other countries in Afghanistan could lead to destabilization and new conflicts. He recalled that the Afghan government would not allow the deployment of foreign military bases on its territory, including the base in Bagram. Lavrov also stressed that the history of Afghanistan knows of many cases of foreign military presence, and everyone should have drawn the right conclusions from this experience.
