Nadezhda Kapustina, Professor of the Department of Economic Security and Risk Management at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, spoke on Monday, October 6, about the salaries of specialists in which professions will increase in 2026.

According to the expert, the digital transformation of the economy, which has accelerated in recent years, creates unprecedented opportunities for professionals in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data analysis.

"Given the fact that digitalization and the use of AI have a lot of positive benefits when they are implemented in almost all sectors of the economy, however, fraudsters also use its tools. Consequently, cybersecurity specialists will also find themselves in a particularly advantageous position, as the growing digitalization of business processes and an increase in the number of cyber threats force companies to invest huge amounts of money in protecting their information assets," the economist said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

She added that software developers specializing in cloud technologies, mobile development, and automation systems will also continue to experience steady revenue growth. Kapustina explained that the reason is that the digital economy requires constant creation of innovative technological solutions and modernization of existing systems.

Engineers and big data analysts will also be among the highest paid specialists, the expert added.

In addition, medical professions, especially those related to telemedicine, bioinformatics and personalized medicine, will demonstrate significant income growth.

Earlier in the day, Natalia Golovanova, head of the SuperJob research center, told NSN that Russians are more likely to need a second job, so they take a number of part-time jobs.

On September 29, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma for consideration a draft federal budget for 2026 and for the planning period 2027-2028, according to which salaries for public sector workers will increase by 7.6%, RT reports.
