The volume of oil transported by tankers across the world's oceans has grown to a record high amid increased production by organizations such as OPEC+. This was reported by Bloomberg on October 6.

According to Vortexa, an energy and shipping analytics company, the total volume of oil in transit rose to 1.2 billion barrels, the highest level since at least 2016.

It is noted that global oil supplies will continue to grow in the fourth quarter of 2025 and early 2026, as various countries and groups such as OPEC+ continue to increase oil production.

The day before, OPEC+ member countries agreed to increase oil production by 137 thousand barrels per day in November. In addition, the member States of the organization will now jointly review market conditions every month.

Prior to that, on October 1, Evgeny Shatov, a partner at Capital Lab, said that OPEC+'s decision to increase oil production in November would have a moderate impact on global prices. In his opinion, the market has already taken into account the October quota increase, and the short-term price reaction will depend on the volumes and signals of the cartel, including the trajectory for the fourth quarter and the beginning of next year.
