President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky's call for a cease—fire in the conflict is "naked chatter." This was announced on October 5 by Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs.

"The price of this chatter is very small, and there is no faith in it. We need to work with serious proposals that have been worked out, which represent a systematic view of things," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The senator added that Russian President Vladimir Putin always talks about this.

According to Karasin, Zelensky's statements in the media space "mean absolutely nothing." He noted that the people who run it from Brussels, London and Paris should understand this and, instead of "pumping up hatred," start developing specific proposals.

"I am convinced that if such proposals are serious, we will consider them," the senator concluded.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on October 2 that the horizon for continuing negotiations to resolve the conflict remains "unclear." He added that Kiev does not want to try to negotiate anything. According to Peskov, this does not "add predictability and stability" to the current situation.
