Reports about the impossibility of resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine are unacceptable to Russia. This was announced on October 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Any statements about the insolvency of the concept of a two—state system are unacceptable to us for a number of reasons. <...> In any case, this does not correspond to our principled position, which is based on international law," she said at a briefing.

On September 29, the White House presented a plan to resolve the situation in Gaza. The 20-point document provides for the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the cessation of hostilities in exchange for the release of hostages. 72 hours are allowed for the implementation of these conditions after the approval of the agreement.

A number of Arab and Islamic States, including Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, expressed their support for the peace plan in a joint statement. On September 30, US President Donald Trump announced that he would give the Hamas movement a few days to agree to a truce in the Gaza Strip.
