Roskachestvo has identified undeclared preservatives and sulfur dioxide in apricots
Roskachestvo has identified undeclared preservatives and sulfur dioxide in dried apricots. This follows from the research data that Izvestia has.
A total of 20 brands of dried fruits were studied according to 431 quality indicators. Among them are Natur Foods, Botanica, Vkusville, Foodfest, My Price, Lenta, Business Partnership, Market, Fructoreshki, Globus, Foodart, Auchan, Gifts of Nature, From the Shop, Semushka, Solid the sign", Aro, "Oro Isfara", "Meat Buffet" and Dagfruit.
"The results showed that 12 out of 20 products (60%) violate mandatory legal requirements, and the main problem of the category is incorrect labeling and the presence of undeclared preservatives," the Roskachestvo press service said.
Thus, the study revealed violations in terms of undeclared preservatives in five brands: Botanica, Vkusville, Globus, Foodart, and Firm Sign. Sorbic acid was found in apricots of these brands.
The products of four brands (Botanica, VkusVill, Myasnov Buffet, Dagfruit) contain sulfur dioxide that was not declared in the composition.
"These violations indicate non—compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 022/2011 "Food products in terms of their labeling," Roskachestvo explained.
Discrepancies in labeling by net weight were identified for TM Aro (783 g instead of 800 g). A lower amount of protein was found in apricots of the brands "Fructoreshki", "Gifts of Nature", "Oro Isfara", "Myasnov Buffet" and Dagfruit. The mass fraction of fat and carbohydrates in the products of six brands does not match ("Fructoreshki", "Gifts of Nature", "Semushka", "Oro Isfara", "Myasnov Buffet", Dagfruit).
The apricots of four brands (Botanica, Vkusville, Myasnov Buffet, Dagfruit) contained the added preservative E220. In addition, the added preservative E200 from Botanica, VkusVill, Globus, Foodart and Hard Mark is not specified.
At the same time, 19 out of 20 products (95% of the products studied) are safe from the point of view of microbiology and are manufactured in compliance with sanitary standards. However, apricots of the VkusVill trademark have a three-fold excess of yeast content, the presence of which in dried apricots may be caused by contamination in production or the use of insufficiently high-quality raw materials, according to Roskachestvo.
"Rospotrebnadzor has sent warnings about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements to Orekhprom JSC (manufacturer of TM Globus products, Firm Sign), Engigroup LLC (manufacturer of TM Aro products), Manufaktura Vkus Zhizni LLC (manufacturer of TM Vkusville products), Myasnov-77 LLC (manufacturer of products of TM Myasnov Buffet), LLC Biopak (manufacturer of products of TM Foodart and Fructoreshki)," Roskachestvo told Izvestia.
Earlier, on May 31. Roskachestvo gave advice on choosing ice cream. It is noted that the appearance of ice cream can identify forgery or errors and violations in the production technology. They also emphasized that when choosing ice cream, you should also look at the chocolate glaze. A white coating, friability, or stickiness may indicate poor ice cream quality. The deformation of the product indicates that the ice cream was stored incorrectly or its shelf life is coming to an end.
