Kabulov commented on the Internet shutdown in Afghanistan
There is no threat to security for Russian citizens, as well as Russian foreign institutions, Zamir Kabulov, the special representative of the President of Russia for Afghanistan, told Izvestia on September 30 amid an Internet blackout in the country.
"No outbound flights are being prepared for evacuation. And at the moment there is no threat to the security of Russians and Russian foreign institutions," Kabulov said.
Earlier on September 30, Amu TV reported that Kabul Airport had canceled all flights due to an Internet blackout throughout Afghanistan. Among the cancelled flights were Ariana Afghan Airlines flight to Dubai and Kam Air flight to Istanbul.
The NetBlocks organization, which monitors Internet freedom in the world, reported on September 29 that Internet connection was completely lost throughout Afghanistan. According to the service, telephone service is also disrupted in the country.
