The Pentagon has signed a $5 billion contract with Raytheon, part of RTX Corporation, to produce Coyote drones. This was announced on September 29 on the website of the American military department.

The document specifies that the funds will be used for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), launchers and radar stations themselves. The contract deadline is set until September 28, 2033.

"Coyote is a single—use drone that can be used to combat enemy drones, jamming, reconnaissance and striking ground targets," the report says.

Earlier, on September 10, The New York Times reported that the US Congress approved the military budget for 2026 in the amount of $892.6 billion. Among other things, it provides for $400 million for the Pentagon's initiative to provide assistance to Ukraine.
