The Aurora Borealis can be observed in several regions of Russia. This was announced on September 29 by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS in its Telegram channel.

"The forecast for Murmansk for the next hour is 71%, for Arkhangelsk — 43%. <...> In St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region and Karelia, peaks are expected in the range from 22:00 [September 29] to 02:00 [September 30]. <...> For the central regions of Russia, the probabilities are currently the moment is significantly higher than usual," the message says.

It is noted that the aurora borealis is the result of the largest solar flare in the last three months.

Earlier, on September 15, it was reported that the Northern Lights could be observed in the Leningrad region. Residents of Ulyanovsk witnessed a rare atmospheric phenomenon.
