Scientists have recorded a new strong solar flare
A new power flare of the penultimate class (M) occurred on the Sun on Monday, September 29. This was announced on September 29 by the press service of the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG").
"On September 29, at 14:15 Moscow time, an M1.1 flash lasting 12 minutes was registered in the X—ray range in the group of spots 4232 (N05E41)," the institute said in a statement posted on its official website.
On the eve of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) The Russian Academy of Sciences reported that an M6.4 class pulsed flare was registered on the Sun. Experts noted that this is the largest solar flare since June 19, 2025 — over the past three months, all observed bursts of activity have occurred at a lower level.
