The statements of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) about the planned occupation of Moldova by the West must be treated with all seriousness. This opinion was expressed on September 25 in an interview with Izvestia by the leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, Ilan Shor.

"The statements of such a weighty and serious organization as the SVR of the Russian Federation should be treated very carefully. <...> Romanians have always wanted to absorb Moldova, Romanians are turning a whole national idea out of it," said Shor.

According to him, there are already hundreds and thousands of NATO troops on the territory of Moldova, who are disguised as diplomatic posts. In addition, Shor added that European countries only need an excuse to introduce their military contingent into the country.

"Today we must protect the national interests of our country," he stressed.

On September 23, Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that Europe was preparing to occupy Moldova. According to the SVR, the member states of the European Union (EU) are determined to "keep Moldova in line with their Russophobic policies at any cost, including the introduction of troops and the actual occupation of the country."

On September 24, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed the opinion that Moldovans should unite against the ongoing Romanization, otherwise they will lose control of their own lives and will be forced to mimic power.
