Estonia has declared its readiness to host British fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear munitions. This was reported on September 23 by the British newspaper The Telegraph, citing sources.

"Estonia is ready to accept British F-35A fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear warheads," the publication says.

Meanwhile, it is noted that Washington's consent is necessary for the strike, since the F-35A is manufactured in the United States and it is they who control the supply of the B61 nuclear bomb that these fighters can carry.

In turn, the newspaper's source in the British army stated that there was no need to deploy strategic weapons in Estonia. According to him, the UK may decide not to send the F-35A to Estonia when they enter service.

On June 27, the country's Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur already announced Estonia's readiness to accept F-35 fighter jets from the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) capable of carrying nuclear weapons. Pevkur added that F-35 fighter jets had previously visited Estonia and would soon be guarding the country's airspace again.
