On September 23, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko sent greetings to the participants of the 18th Russian National Congress with International participation "Profession and Health" taking place in Krasnoyarsk.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Health, I welcome you to the opening of the 18th Russian National Congress with International participation "Profession and Health". <...> You will discuss important issues related to the development of measures and management decisions aimed at preventing the occurrence of occupational and occupational-related diseases, reducing their morbidity and mortality," — his message says.

Murashko added that it is important not only to monitor production factors in a timely manner and ensure the availability and quality of medical care, but also to pay special attention to the transition to a proactive format of working with risk factors among employees and creating a so-called health-saving environment. According to the head of the Ministry of Health, currently 35% of the total number of employees (73.6 million) perform work in harmful or dangerous conditions for the body.

The text clarifies that the continuous improvement of the Russian healthcare system is one of the key national goals outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sergei Leonov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, announced on the same day that the list of free vaccinations for Russians could be replenished. Drugs against meningococcal infection may be among the new vaccines that are being prepared for mass use.
