Healthy business: Putin opened medical facilities in five regions
Treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases is a key area of development of national healthcare. Vladimir Putin said this on June 10, opening medical institutions in five regions of the Russian Federation via video link. According to the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, Russia holds a historical minimum in mortality from diseases of the circulatory system, and the age of occurrence of the consequences of such diseases among Russians has shifted from 80 to 85 years over the past five years. One of the facilities being opened is the new surgical building of the Republican Cardiological center in Ufa. At the same time, the president asked local authorities to pay attention to the need to create new medical and obstetric centers, as this concerns millions of Russians. What medical facilities have been launched in Donbass and Novorossiya, and what Vladimir Putin particularly appreciated, is in the Izvestia article.
Treatment of cardiovascular diseases
On June 10, Vladimir Putin participated via video link in the opening of healthcare facilities in five regions of Russia — the LPR, the DPR, the Voronezh Region, Bashkiria and Kabardino-Balkaria. However, first of all, he congratulated all the doctors on the upcoming professional holiday, which will be celebrated next Sunday — the Day of the Medical Worker. The President thanked the doctors for their contribution to the preservation of public health and separately noted the merits of the doctors who rescue the wounded during their military operations.
— Special, warmest words of gratitude to the medical workers participating in the special military operation. Risking themselves, showing heroism, they save the wounded, in the full, literal sense of the word, if necessary, they cover themselves, carry out the most difficult operations, nurse, support the fighters. Helping people and serving them is the main meaning of your profession," the president said.
He did not forget to mention the work of doctors, as well as almost all medical workers in the country during the difficult years of the coronavirus pandemic — he called their work at that time a real feat that forever entered the history of the country.
One of the key areas of development of domestic healthcare is the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Among the special achievements, the head of state named the renewal and expansion of specialized infrastructure in the regions: the supply of equipment, the introduction of advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as the improvement of emergency medical care.
Separately, he noted that Russia has done a lot in recent years to successfully combat cardiovascular diseases. For example, advanced developments have already been implemented in the regions. The Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko made a detailed report on this topic. According to him, the number of deaths from diseases of the circulatory system has decreased by 28.5 thousand people in Russia over the past six years. At the same time, the age at which Russians experience the effects of cardiovascular diseases has increased, on the contrary: over the past five years, this indicator has shifted from 80 to 85 years.
— In recent years, we have been maintaining a historical minimum in mortality from diseases of the circulatory system… Thus, the duration of a healthy life increases," Mikhail Murashko said.
Such results were achieved thanks to a large range of measures that have been carried out in the Russian Federation for quite a long time: in particular, a whole network of vascular centers was created that provide emergency care for myocardial infarctions and other vascular disasters, as well as regular medical examinations of the population, explained Sergey Leonov, head of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.
— Currently, assistance is provided in the centers for a maximum of two hours — this allows you to save a person's life. Medical examinations and preventive examinations detect cardiovascular diseases at an early stage, which makes it possible to prescribe therapy and carry out treatment on time. Recently, it was decided that people who have suffered a myocardial infarction will be provided with medicines free of charge after discharge from the hospital, which also allows them to prolong their lives without complications," he told Izvestia.
Which medical facilities have been opened in the Russian Federation
One of the medical facilities being opened on this day is the new ten—storey surgical building of the republican cardiological center in Ufa, the capital of Bashkiria. Its area is 32 thousand square meters, it is designed for 320 visits per shift in the adult department and 75 in the children's department. All types of high-tech heart and vascular interventions will be available there, including complex hybrid operations and heart transplants. The facility plans to provide medical care not only to residents of the republic, but also to patients from neighboring regions and foreigners.
The modern radiotherapy building of the Voronezh Regional Cancer Dispensary has also been put into operation. The seven-storey building with a total area of 13 thousand square meters is equipped with modern equipment, it houses an inpatient unit, which includes three radiotherapy departments with 90 beds and an antitumor therapy department. A new municipal polyclinic No. 1, equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, has been opened in Nalchik. On the ground floor there are diagnostic rooms and departments, including radiation diagnostics with rooms for computed tomography, radiography, mammography, fluorography, ultrasound and functional diagnostics.
They opened a series of facilities in Donbass and Novorossiya. After the overhaul, the vascular center at the Kalinin Republican Clinical Hospital started operating in the DPR. New equipment, including a CT scanner, appeared there. A new Roszdravnadzor laboratory has opened in Donetsk: the planned volume of drug quality tests is up to 4 thousand examinations per year. Major repairs have been completed in Luhansk city Polyclinic No. 12. The building has been redeveloped, the existing systems, elevator equipment and engineering networks have been completely replaced. The clinic also has fluorography, mammography, and X-ray machines and a CT scanner. In total, more than 290 healthcare facilities have been repaired and built since 2022 in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, Vladimir Putin noted.
Despite the opening of such large facilities, Vladimir Putin asked the authorities in the regions not to forget about the repair and creation of new medical and obstetric centers, noting that this concerns millions of Russians living in small towns. So, in six years, more than 6.5 thousand of them were built in different regions of the Russian Federation, 5.5 thousand medical facilities were overhauled, the president said. According to him, over 245,000 units of medical equipment have been purchased in Russia as a whole. And the head of state stressed that work on improving the quality and accessibility of medical care for Russians will continue.
